Outpatient

Outpatients are seen on an appointment-priority basis during normal business hours. To accommodate as many as possible at your convenience, we ask that you arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. If you are unable to do so, please call so that we may reschedule you for another time, and have that time available for someone else. Emergencies are handled as they arise on an as-needed basis during business hours, and are referred when we are closed.

We make a sincere effort to see each client at their appointment time, and give each client enough time to have all of their questions and concerns answered. Please understand that in a hospital setting situations may arise that cause delays or necessitate changes in the schedule. We may not always be able to extend your allotted time for concerns other than the problem for which you made the appointment, and we may have to schedule another appointment for another time.

Hospitalization

Sadly, illnesses occur which require hospitalization. We understand the concern you have when your pet is sick and is away from home. Please know that our trained doctors and staff are working on your pet's behalf, doing for him what cannot be done at home, in order to get him well and get him home. We want very much to keep you informed of your pet's health status and ongoing procedures. Communication is extremely important and visitation can be arranged. Typically, we consult with you daily on procedures, testing and treatment as well as on how your pet is doing. We are always happy to answer your questions to the best of our ability, or find the answer for you.

Surgery

Our facilities and staff allow us to address most of your pet's dental, soft-tissue and orthopedic surgery needs. We are extremely proud of our continuing education that allows us to maintain the highest standards and keep abreast of the best anesthetic and surgical techniques that can be offered to your pet. When you schedule your pet's surgery, special feeding instructions will be given to you. The doctor will examine each patient on the day of surgery, prior to the scheduled surgical procedure and answer your questions at that time. Special consideration for pain management and necessary laboratory tests prior to anesthesia will be discussed at the time your pet is admitted for surgery. The safety and well-being of your pet is our highest priority at all times. Your pet will be safely and completely anesthetized for the surgical procedure, and we strive to have the procedure and total recovery time be as painless as possible. Anesthetic recovery time is variable, so we ask that you call to check on your pet's progress and condition prior to coming to pick her up.

Diagnostics

We have full-service laboratory equipment in house to assess your pet's health and develop a treatment plan. We also utilize reference, or outside, laboratory services for cases that require expert results.  When additional expertise might be beneficial, you may be referred to a specialist depending on the severity or complexity of your pet's condition.

Radiology

Our hospital also includes on-site equipment that allows us to take, develop, and interpret radiographs (X-rays). These diagnostic measures sometimes require admittance into our facility for tranquilization or anesthesia, but typically all can be accomplished on the same day.
